As the Founder and Chief Growth Officer of The Vertical Solution, Mike McCalley has been building teams and organizations that engage customers at their point of need to help solve real problems quickly and effectively. For the last 20+ years, he has helped diverse Fortune 500 corporations and small to mid-size companies engaged in becoming more customer focused by changing to meet the markets new requirements about thinking, acting and conducting business.
Mike has served as a Chief Marketing Officer, Vice President, General Manager and Executive Leader for Marketing, Product Management, and various Lines of Business at GE (Digital, Energy Management, and Oil & Gas), Flowserve, Danaher, and Newell Rubbermaid. He most recently led a Voice of Customer based transformation of Flowserve’s ($5B) marketing and product management organization – launching a digital engagement strategy enabled by a customer friendly dynamic content hub technology. Prior to this, he was the CMO at GE’s Digital Power business and had roles of increasing responsibility including leading Energy Management’s ($7.7B) marketing, competitive intelligence, new product commercialization and digital marketing efforts. Prior to this role, he led the marketing and product management functions for Dresser Inc., a $2B private equity owned company that was acquired by GE in February of 2011. In this role he led the charge to transform the marketing function and create a market facing team through the deployment of best practices, focused training, and effective organizational design.
Mike has served in General Management, Operational, Sales and Marketing roles throughout his career where he has helped spearhead the turn-around and rapid growth of domestic, international, and global businesses. He earned his MBA from the Pennsylvania State University.
Most importantly, Mike is married to his beautiful wife Jill and a proud father to their five children. When he isn’t working, he enjoys skiing, boating, and diving off sheer-cliffs and buildings in a squirrel suit.
